Hi everyone, my name is Olya Lebedeva, I’m from Russia and I came to Gibanje for almost 1 month for the Job Shadowing project. And now, when the project is almost over, I would like to share with you my impressions.
What is a Job Shadowing project? This is a project of European commission. As a representative of my sending organisation (»Sodrujestvo« in Russia) I was supposed to come to Gibanje and learn how they work and realise their projects, study their best practices etc so that to come back and apply these practices in my organization.
What was done during this month in Slovenia?
First of all, I participated in the Tabor »Pogum za spremembe« and had a great time there and hopefully helped with it a little bit:) I didn’t understand much of what was discussed during the workshops and round tables, but it was very interesting to meet all the people and see that they really are interested in changes and are ready to take actions. Also the speakers of the camp seemed to be very experienced in the topic; I could see that they knew what they were talking about.
It was also interesting to see how the camp was organised. There is a very big preparation work lying behind it. I can only guess how many phone calls, e-mails, meetings and planning it took to organise everything. Well done!
This kind of camp is quite unusual for me. I work in a camp for kids in Russia for 10 years, and there we have to be strict about the discipline and always keep them busy, so it was quite new for me that the participants of the camp were so well-behaved, always listened to the speaker and kept their attention for such a long time;) though, not everyone was always in time:) This was a very relaxed atmosphere there.
Here I would like take the opportunity and invite everyone to our camp for the children »Sodrujestvo«:) More information here: www.sodvo.ru, or you can ask me.
After the camp another work was waiting for me. Together with Marina we translated to English descriptions of Gibanje and its main projects so now they can be presented to the possible future partners. With Boštjan we started to work on the Erasmus+ project – Youth training. This work will be continued by the International office, and possibly next year Gibanje will host an international project where everyone is invited, of course! I also did some other small things, like creating Gibanje’s accounts in LinkedIn and international non-profit organisations databases, clearing the PowerPoint presentation, washing cups, etc:)
Though it’s not my first time in Slovenia and I already spent a lot of time here before, there is always something new to discover. I think that Slovenia is a very big country, really! Because it’s so diverse and there is always a lot of things going on.
I am happy to have this chance to know all these nice people from Gibanje, to communicate with the people and see their usual life, not just tourist attractions. A big part of my heart will always stay in Slovenia. Thanks everyone for everything, good luck with your projects, be happy and see you next time in Slovenia or in Russia:)
