The first month of summer was a little hectic at Gibanje, because we were preparing our first annual camp for active young people who are concerned about the current political and economical situation in Slovenia. And finally we had it from the 5th till the 7th of July in a beautiful Sentanel in Koroska region.

We can proudly say that it was a success. All participants had a chance not only to meet new people, discuss the long-standing problems in Slovenia, but also they could participate in round tables, attend different workshops and of course have a lot of fun during parties.

The first day was all about the round table with participation of famous Slovenian people with pro-active attitude. We are very grateful that prof. dr. Miro Cerar, mag. Goran Klemenčič and Uroš Lubej kindly accepted our invitation and took part in our round table. Unfortanutely mag. Goran Klemenčič could not come due to personal issues. But we hope later we will have a chance to talk with him as well.

The main topics of this evening were significant current problems in Slovenia and the possible way of economic recovery. What is supposed to be changed to improve the current situation? What I can do, as a single person, to make tomorrow better place for everyone?

The second day was very intensive. In the morning we had a variety of workshops dedicated to the different departments of Gibanje (Social department, International office, Department of labour market, Law department). Then, the time came for participants to take part in a creative workshop and in late afternoon there was a chance to pick the most appealing one among three different workshops such as Public presentation and Oratory, First Enmloyment and the last but not the least – the workshop about new changes and improvements in Slovenian employment law.

In the evening was our second round table that was focused on practical example of rescuing, retention and creation of workplaces in Slovenia. We could not do it without a great assistance of our professional guests – Goran Lukič, Jure Knez, and Tadej Slapnik.

On Sunday we organized the treasure hunting for the camp’s participants. To bring to a conclusion our productive weekend, we shared our ideas how to enhance and facilitate the development of Gibanje and what we have learned during these three days.

On behalf of Gibanje I would like to say thank you to all participants for amazing weekend, where we could not only have fun, but more importantly learned something new and realized that all together we can make a difference. Special thanks we would like to say to the Miller family for their hospitality, understanding and great food!

Personally I am sure that summer camp of Gibanje will become an annual event for very very long time.
