EVS project in progress

Hello, everybody! Let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Darina Vorobyeva and I am a new EVS intern at Gibanje za dostojno delo in socialno družbo (Movement for decent work and welfare society). I am from Saint-Petersburg, Russia and I am very excited to be here in lovely Slovenia.

I will be working almost for a year on EVS project called «Volunteeringforemployment» that will concentrate on fighting against youth unemployment in the EU and especially in Slovenia. I chose this project because today European employment is an extremely important topic. Unemployment is steadily increasing and has recently reached a historically high level. And one of the most affected groups is the young. At the present time, the EU is facing a worsening youth employment crisis.

The main goal of the project is to spread some additional practical knowledge among young people by preparing special workshops that can bring useful and up-to-date information about employment, team-building, different structures of companies and so on. It’s crucial to show that with this kind of extra knowledge, it will be easier to find a job. Additionally, within the framework of the project, will be analyzed the current European and national programs that are focused on fighting youth unemployment. In the end, we are planning to prepare special proposals about how to reduce youth unemployment and to increase the youth employment rate in Slovenia based on current practices in other countries.

To conclude I would like to say that I am glad to be a part of this important program and I hope I can be a valuable asset to the project.
