he time came to sum up our eventful November. In the end of the month we had our first national conference “Contemporary slavery – Precarious work”. It was the high point of 2,5 months campaign “Contemporary slavery”, organized by Movement for Decent Work, where we tried to attract the attention of society to a problem of precariat, unemployment among young people and to raise attention of importance of availability of decent work to each and everyone.
The conference attended around 100 people. We are very grateful to all our guests, sponsors and participants and off course to all members of Gibanje who helped to organize and implement this conference.
The conference consisted from 2 parts: “Job incentives” and “Precarious work”, where professionals from different private or state organizations and individuals shared with the audience there point of view on the target topics. We tried to cover different topics of precariat work. We hope that this kind of events will become a good tradition in our NGO.
Additionally right on the conference we have started the new petition – petition towards acknowledgement and support of workers’ rights, the rights of precariat and unemployed people. Yesterday at Gibanje we had meeting to discuss our future activities in January. It seems like that the first month of the year will be very replete, so we won’t have long Winter Holidays. But we feel exited to start new year with meaningful and high-potential activities.
The nicest part is that today Movement for Decent Work celebrates its 3rd Birthday. We hope next year will be full of productive work and prosperity of our young but ambitious organization. And we also would like to congratulate everyone with winter holiday and wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
